This was my first hot pot experience. But I enjoyed it and all was tasty.
Its on the far right side of the building. Some in our party said it was hard to find. (it seems like its part of the Good Life) -

The food was amazing. The service not so much. I've heard so much about hot pot that I thought I'd try something new. We told the server we never had it before and are new to this. She offered zero help, but we figured it out. Never came back to see if our food was good or if we needed anything. It's a shame as the food was amazing.

If you're looking for the spiciest food in Halifax, this place has it in the form of the Chongqing hot pot. Add in their spicy sauce, and man, you've got one hell of a spicy dish! It's Despite that you can still taste all the unique flavours. I like how you get to choose which ingredients go into the hot pot.
As this was our first hot pot experience we were expecting a bit of instruction but we got none. We even said it was our first time and didn't really know what we were doing. I don't think she understood. But our server was still polite and attempted to be accommodating. Be forewarned, if you get the hot pot, prepare to bring along at least three others. It's a huge amount of food.
A couple of things prevented me from giving it five stars:
The first is the fact that the floors were dirty and the exterior windows were covered in bird droppings. I know what happens outside the restaurant is largely beyond anyone's control, but cleaning the windows every now and then would go a long way. No one likes staring at poop while they eat.
Secondly, for some reason, they didn't really appear to have any heat on in the restaurant on a day that was -7 degrees. The patrons in the restaurant were all wearing their winter jackets. It doesn't particularly make for an inviting atmosphere.
Thirdly, the hot pot price itself is expensive. Yes you can somewhat control the price by limiting the ingredients put in, and in hindsight, we may have overdone it a tad with ingredients, but the whole thing came to $68 before tip. Granted, we got a beer each too, but still. That's a pricy lunch.
Fourthly, the meat they use is all frozen beforehand, not fresh. They make no efforts to hide it either, they bring straight up frozen meat to the table. Fresh meat would not only taste better, but would be my appetizing.
If those are all things you can overlook, then this place is well worth a try. Will be back to try more meals on the menu. -

This is mainly a hot pot restaurant. The main clientele appears to be Chinese students. The menu is in Chinese with one page in English - with the tamer menu choices.
The wait staff speak predominantly Chinese. Went on a Monday night and it was exceptionally busy! Felt bad for the one waitress who was running around to every table.
Ordered off the menu - wow, the portions were large. Also authentic Chinese - don't come here if you want combo one or two... That isn't the population this restaurant is catering too.
The food came out fast, hot and fresh. Had a ton of leftovers. Definitely won't be ordering so much next time.

Ordered delivery twice from here while I was at the IWK. Both times I ordered their lamb potstickers. If you don't like lamb then this dish isn't for you. Potstickers or fried dumplings were filled with fragrant lamb and seasoning. There didn't seem to have any veggie in them. It really satisfied the craving that I had because I was tired of the bland hospital food. Good portion, but a bit on the oily side.
